Within the framework of the strategic realignment and modernisation of the organisational structure of our group of companies, we combined our non-recyclable waste incineration (MHKW) and renewable energy activities, particularly the biomass business, as of 1 July 2004 to form our new "Environmental Energy" business field. We plan to bundle all activities of the MVV Energie Group relating to the bioenergy project companies of our biomass power plants in Mannheim (20 MW), Königs Wusterhausen (20 MW) and Flörsheim-Wicker (15 MW), as well as the non-recyclable waste incineration facilities together at MVV Umwelt GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of MVV Energie AG. Smaller projects, such as the biomass heating plants entirely developed in the context of decentralised utility supply concepts, have been allocated to our value-added services segment. This concentration of the Group's disposal and power plant activities provides it with the possibility of bundling its competencies and longstanding experience, of simplifying management procedures and of exploiting synergies, for example in terms of waste and wood procurement. | |
