MVV Energie AG has increased earnings per share in accordance with IAS 33 by 32% to Euro 1.00. Thanks to the excellent situation in earnings, we will propose a dividend of Euro 0.75 per share for fiscal year 2001/02. The high dividend yield of MVV Energie AG achieved last year by means of a bonus will be attained once again this year (Euro 0.56 + a bonus of Euro 0.19 last year). The tax credit for dividends paid until now has been superseded by the new taxation on dividends since the Halbeinkünfteverfahren (half-revenues procedure) came into being.

Share in New SDAX

Our stock was admitted to the newly constituted SDAX on June 24, 2002. MVV Energie AG has become No. 103 — measured by market capitalisation of the free float according to the statistics of the Deutsche Börse AG (DAX) — among all publicly listed enterprises in Germany. MVV Energie AG is thus only slightly below the other enterprises quoted on the former MDAX 70. The relatively small volume of trading in our stock on the respective stock exchanges is the only thing currently standing in the way of our being admitted to the new MDAX 50.
