For many years, MVV Energie AG has been successful as an innovative energy distributor and value-added services provider both nationally and internationally. Our core competencies include electric power, natural gas, district heating, waste management and water. We have extensive technical know-how in distribution and can make use of our traditionally close ties to our customers. We have evolved into a provider of total value-added service packages in and around energy distribution and water service based on our core competencies. With our Europewide energy trading, we now number among the leading energy-trading enterprises in Germany.

We have succeeded in broadening our basis by acquiring participations in distribution utilities and value-added services providers both in Germany and abroad. Moreover, we have been investing specifically in renewable energy technologies. In so doing, we have been concentrating on decentralised energy generation using biomass, wind power and photovoltaics. Thanks to strategic participations in leading technological enterprises, we have gained access to promising key technologies, with which we will be able to position ourselves favourably in our core business in future. Since 1999 we have been listed on the stock exchange as the first municipal public utility in Germany.
