MVV Energie, an energy company listed in the SDAX, is paying a dividend of 90 cents per share for the past 2007/08 financial year (1.10.2007 - 30.9.2008), and thus 10 cents more than in the previous year. As announced by the company in Mannheim on Friday, shareholders at today's Annual General Meeting of the company, which has been publicly listed since 1999, thus approved the recommendation made by the Executive and Supervisory Boards. Based on a total of 65.9 million shares, the distribution total has thus risen by Euro 6.6 million to Euro 59.3 million. The dividend will be paid this coming Monday, 16 March 2009.

In the past twelve months, MVV Energie boosted its sales from Euro 2.2 billion in the previous year to around Euro 2.6 billion and increased its sustainable operating EBIT (excluding non-cash valuation items under IAS 39) from Euro 199 million to Euro 249 million.

The increased dividend allows shareholders to participate in the company's recent business success. Based on a current share price of around Euro 31, the company's market capitalisation presently amounts to around Euro 2 billion.

The Annual General Meeting was attended by around 1,400 shareholders and guests, representing 87.1 percent of the company's share capital.
