At its meeting in Mannheim on Monday, the Supervisory Board of MVV Energie AG followed the recommendations made by the Personnel Committee concerning the organisation of the succession to the outgoing Chairman of the Executive Board, Dr. Rudolf Schulten. As the company announced following the meeting, Dr. Schulten's contract will be terminated as of 31 December 2008. Dr. Schulten will also be granted leave of absence from the expiry of the company's financial year on 30 September 2008 until 31 December 2008.

Suitable applicants will be evaluated and selected within a structured and unbiased process, for which the Chairman of the Supervisory Board has commissioned a renowned HR consultancy firm. The Supervisory Board intends to reach a decision as to the new Chairman of the Executive Board in the course of the autumn.
