At its meeting in Mannheim on Friday, the Personnel Committee of the Supervisory Board of MVV Energie AG laid foundations for the succession to the outgoing Chairman of the Executive Board, Dr. Rudolf Schulten. The company announced following the meeting that the evaluation and selection of suitable applicants would take place within a structured and unbiased process also involving a renowned HR consultancy firm. The Personnel Committee expects to see a decision by the autumn.
At the beginning of August, Dr. Schulten, who had led MVV Energie AG as Chairman of the Executive Board since October 2003, requested the premature termination of his contract, which would otherwise have run until September 2013, in order to take up a position as CFO of EnBW as of 1 January 2009. The Personnel Committee has now unanimously recommended to the Supervisory Board that the request to terminate the contract as of 31 December 2008 be complied with. Dr. Schulten will be granted leave of absence upon the end of the financial year on 30 September 2008 until 31 December 2008.
