MVV Energie, Mannheim, an energy company listed in the SDAX, will be paying a dividend of Euro 0.80 for the past 2006/07 financial year. The level of dividend has therefore remained unchanged on the previous year. Shareholders at the Annual General Meeting of the company, which has been publicly listed since 1999, have therefore followed the recommendation made by the Executive and Supervisory Boards.
Following the successful capital increase undertaken in October 2007, in which almost all shareholders exercised their subscription rights, the number of shares with dividend rights for the 2006/07 financial year increased by 10.1 million to 65.9 million. In view of the higher number of shares with dividend rights, MVV Energie AG is distributing a total of Euro 52.7 million for the 2006/07 financial year, and thus Euro 8.1 million more than in the previous year. The dividend is scheduled for payment on 17 March 2008.
The Annual General Meeting also elected Dr. Rolf Martin Schmitz, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Cologne-based company RheinEnergie AG, as a new member of the Supervisory Board of MVV Energie. Schmitz therefore succeeds Dr. Karl Heidenreich (66), who had retired from his position on the Board.
The Annual General Meeting was attended by around 1,800 shareholders and guests representing 98,4 percent of the company's share capital.
