MVV Energie AG issues more than 10 million new shares to finance its further growth
MVV Energie AG, the Mannheim-based energy company listed in the SDAX, has successfully com-pleted the capital increase announced in mid-October. As disclosed by the company in Mann-heim on Tuesday, the share capital has been increased by around Euro 25.96 million to Euro 168.72 million in return for cash contributions with subscription rights for shareholders. A total of 10,139,506 new shares have been issued for this purpose at a subscription price of Euro 22.50. In the words of Dr. Rudolf Schulten, CEO of MVV Energie AG, all subscription rights have been exercised in full. "We see the fact that this capital increase has been undertaken without impacting on our current share price as confirming the positive reception of this move by the capital markets."
With this capital increase, the company intends both to strengthen its equity base and to finance further profitable growth. As Germany's largest municipal utility group, the MVV Energie Group has already invested more than Euro 700 million in the expansion of its municipal utility network and its two high-growth fields of energy-related services and environmental energy in the past four years. MVV Energie intends to expand in the rapidly growing market for energy-related services and renewable energies by means of additional projects and by making further acquisitions if appropriate. Moreover, the company plans to extend its activities in the field of non-recyclable waste incineration.
